Mullingar Literary Festival 2026
Changing the literary festival landscape one year at a time. Mullingar Literary Festival taking place in Mullingar on the 3rd, 4th and 5th July is a free inclusive and ambitious festival bringing writers, readers, schools and communities together in the heart of Ireland.
In July 2025, the inaugural Mullingar Literary Festival brought writers, poets, historians, and musicians together for three remarkable days of storytelling and connection.
Over 1,500 attendees gathered across Mullingar from the warm surroundings of Caffrey’s Bar to the historic Greville Arms Hotel and Mullingar Library to share ideas, laughter, and a few well-earned pints.
What began as a local celebration has already become a highlight of Ireland’s literary calendar and 2026 promises to be even bigger.
